When you are comfortable eating other food, you can, but don’t eat on the “teeth” until the dentist says it’s ok.

My daughter is having all four of hers out this week. how do you feel?

When your dentist says it’s OK. I know that sounds like a stupid answer but it’s true. You can go on and eat solid foods now just be careful not to rip or tare out your stitches. I wouldn’t eat anything very hard yet but like a baked potato or steamed vegetables or hot dog would be OK.

Well if you try to eat soft foods like pasta , soups and things like that you could probably start like 4 days after. Cleaning is a real pain though.

your dentist should have told you this…

Anyway, you will need to wait about 5 days or so before eating any solid food, but you don’t have to limit yourself to super mushy things…as long as they are nutritious, and somewhat soft you are good. Anything that comes in kernel form like corn, or things like broccoli, you should stay away from, because the little particles will get into the holes and could cause infection. When you go back for your follow up, be sure to ask for an irrigating syringe to flush the holes with.

try to eat foods that you don’t have to heat, don’t drink hot coffee, and don’t smoke or drink out of a straw for the first week to prevent dry socket. (dry socket pretty much means that the blood clot was sucked out of the hole, its very painful)

    Have fun!
