Is it possible to get surgery to put a muzzle onto your face?

I know that it is possible to have surgery to take out and put in various things of the human body. But I just want to know if it is possible to take a muzzle (for example, a canine one) and graft it onto the human skull to where it would be functional? Of course, there would have to be extra surgery to get skin stretched/transplanted onto the muzzle so that it is covered.

    I sincerely hope not

Sounds a *tad* extreme … have you thought of the choking risk? Anything’s possible, it’s your body, but who’s going to do it? A plastic surgeon and anesthetist who are into pony play? Also, it might be difficult to say something like “could you pass the gravy?” at Christmas dinner (just one thought).

It’s probably possible, although I don’t know that you’d have an easy time getting someone to graft it on the bone. It would be much easier I’m sure to get it skin grafted into the cheeks.

    hah.

there’s this little decorative metal piece you can get put over the belly button. i call it a manhole cover. it has metal pieces on all sides of the decorative bit that are slid under the skin on four sides.

I don’t know if it’s possible to actually graft a “real” canine muzzle, since the muzzle just consists of their jawbones. It’s probably possible to graft a substitute out of bone found elsewhere in your body, or from bone donors.

However, no surgeon will perform such a procedure.

For one thing, you would definitely lose your ability to communicate, and would most likely not be able to chew or swallow food or drink.

If the skin grafts were rejected, you would be disfigured for life.

So, basically, it theoretically might be possible to graft a faux muzzle onto a person, but would be nearly impossible to make it functional.

    In a word, NO.

It would be dangerous, unnecessary and wouldn’t work.
