I am looking forward to laser surgery, but as a college student I have less than $2000 to work with. I understand surgery can be up to $5000 in the USA, but I’ve heard of prices as low as $1400 abroad. Does anyone have any cheap success stories?

I know that it is possible to have surgery to take out and put in various things of the human body. But I just want to know if it is possible to take a muzzle (for example, a canine one) and graft it onto the human skull to where it would be functional? Of course, there would have to be extra surgery to get skin stretched/transplanted onto the muzzle so that it is covered.

My father just had heart surgery and the nurses and drs told us to watch out for depression in the next couple of weeks. He was in good spirits before and after, but now he’s starting to get depressed.

Is it biological, psychological, or both? I can understand how stressful major surgery is, but I would think people would be happy that it was over and they pulled through alright. Is it caused by hormones or something?

I had hernia surgery eight months ago and have had chronic testicular and thigh pain since then. I’ve completed all conservative treatment efforts. A recent nerve block appears to indicate that the problem (which causes both shooting thigh pain and testicular pain/sensitivity) lies in the genitofemoral nerve.

On the internet, there appear to be a few different approaches to dealing with problems with a specific nerve.

What type of surgery would you suggest? I live in the Washington DC area (not far from Baltimore either), so I’m pretty sure that every type of surgeon is within about 30 miles of me. For starters, there’s Georgetown and George Washington in DC and the Dellon Institute in Baltimore.

But I have no idea what the best approach is. (Cryoablation instead? Micronerve surgery? Cutting one nerve? Cutting all three nerves in the area? Something else?) Any information would be appreciated.

My mum had surgery in December and is still getting some pain, I think mainly in the muscles that have been cut (her scar runs from the top of her stomach to the bottom). Doctor has said just to take paracetamol. I also wonder what exercise is recommended? She has arthritis so isn’t very mobile.
